    Annie Sloan Paint: Now Stocked

We are extremely pleased to announce that LASSCO is now a stockist of Annie Sloan paint. We have greatly enjoyed using her fabulous Chalk Paint product in many applications in the past – whether for restorations or room sets. Our customers already know the paint well – it is always being discussed in the shop. For...

LASSCO is delighted to offer for sale the original Victorian Westminster Bridge that was removed during the extensive restoration works carried out in 1997 – the first time that an historic London river crossing has been offered on the open market since John Rennie’s Portland stone London Bridge of 1831 was sold by The Corporation of London...

Private Functions at The Three Pigeons,

”Everyone loved the venue, the staff, the food and the magician – a ‘fab’ evening is what I keep hearing, which is great. I had a great time – all over too quickly!”  Why not hold your next event with us?

    LASSCO in the press,

See the May issue of World of Interiors for some beautifully photographed articles including ‘Positively Medieval’ with words by Ros Byam Shaw &  photography by Jan Baldwin.  It’s about Allt-y-Bela,  Arne Maynard and William Collinson’s home in Monmouthshire which has been restored thanks to the Spitalfields Historic Buildings Trust.  Look carefully and in the small...

    Lunar Eclipse

On Friday morning (20th March 2015), for a while, we’ll be in the shade as the moon slips in front of the sun. In Denmark it’ll be a total eclipse. Of course you’ll be wanting a lunar globe to properly demonstrate the dynamics of an eclipse, and this one happens to be Danish:   It can...

    St. Patrick at LASSCO

Happy St. Patrick’s Day. We have St. Patrick with us at LASSCO Three Pigeons, clutching his sprig of shamrock and keeping an eye on the shop – together with his fellow Irish patron Saint Columba and, between them St. Augustine of Canterbury. Together they form a very fine stained glass window. More info here.

    Well, well, well…

You’ll find some beautiful old stone troughs and well-heads at LASSCO Three Pigeons. We can’t resist buying them when we find them; English or French  they tend to sell quickly. Encrusted with centuries of lichen and decades of moss, it is hard to envisage that these great lumps of roughly hewn stone could have been physically moved...

THE THREE PIGEONS, MILTON COMMON, OXFORDSHIRE

LASSCO moved from St. Michael’s Shoreditch to The Three Pigeons Oxfordshire in 2007. The pub we found then was in a terrible state and so were the grounds. We have brought the old Inn back to life. The bar and dining rooms are once again thronged with people – both locals and travellers – and with our Architectural Salvage displayed...

Cabinets of Curiosity – and size.

We’re delighted to receive pictures of the “Captain Cook Cabinet” that we salvaged in the summer (2014) at The Pitt Rivers Museum in Oxford, now installed at its new home in Berlin. The mahogany monster – it is 7metres long (23ft) – had sat for over a century in the prime spot on the first floor mezzanine at...
