Salvaged from a West Country foundry that specialised in the supplying component parts to aviation and military manufacturers we have simply cleaned up the moulds and mounted them on a salvaged oak slab. Each has a certain abstract quality and bear the notes and markings by the foundry workers during the casting process.

    The American Lobster 1896

    Francis Hobart Herrick (1858-1940) was for many decades Professor of Biology at Western Reserve University, Ohio. His early research focused on the American lobster in New England. His work revealed that over-harvesting egg-producing adult lobsters was threatening the species and risking destruction of the American lobster industry.

    Alpine Flowers

    Anton Hartinger was an Austrian artist who specialized in still life paintings of fruit and flowers. He was born in Vienna in 1806 and  a member of the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna from 1843 to 1851. He later became a pioneer in the field of chromolithographic printing. He died in Vienna in 1890.
