Research continues as to the precise origin of this Philips desk at Harwell – likely to have been used for “Hermes” or “Dido” or one of the other research reactors built in this groundbreaking Oxfordshire Science park. The unit was salvaged by a Physics Professor on one of the rounds of reactor de-commissioning and dis-assembly in the 1980’s – it remained at home in his milking parlour.
