Bearing the maker's stamp to the top edge of each drawer. Gregory & Co. were an exclusive furniture supplier offering a wide range of interiors products from their Regent Street emporium. They were established in 1861, later moving to Bruton Street in Mayfair in 1940. Disguised holes in the beautifully figured top, now plugged and finished, indicate that this table would originally have had a low gallery or superstructure.
