Sea Containers House is a prominent building on the south bank of the River Thames in London. Its name comes from the former long-term tenant, Sea Containers. It is located towards the eastern end of London's South Bank cultural area, within the London Borough of Southwark.
Sea Containers House was originally conceived as a luxury hotel. It's location, in the heart of London's business district, led to the decision to complete it instead as office space. A process has now begun for an extensive internal and external refurbishment. The east and west wings, which face the Thames, will remain offices, while the south wing will be renovated as a hotel, bringing part of the building back to its original intended use.
