The Brothers Samuel and Nathaniel Buck were the leading British topographical draughtsmen of the 18th century. Over a period of 34 years, the Buck brothers produced several hundred drawings and engravings, including 87 engraved ‘prospects’ of the Cathedral Cities, County Towns, Principal Ports of England and Wales.
These are now considered both valuable and important as a visual record of the appearance of British urban landscapes immediately prior to the Industrial Revolution.
