La Mosca Roja, Spanish political poster.
A framed Spanish political poster depicting a moustachoied figure, possibly Fransisco Serrano, 1st Duke of La Torre. He is shown dressed in harlequinade and mounted on a white hare proffering a scroll of reactionary and traditionalist demands while dark smoke, containing 'grand hopes' escapes from a breach in his skull. Cannons point out from behind his ears and The Pope is secreted between his eyes.
Printed in Barcelona in the 1880s.
