As you would expect from these famous houses along Holland Park, the fittings were of the highest quality. This door is fantastically heavy and well engineered. They can be found in the draft porch and were often glazed with obscured glass. It came to us thick with flaking paint – blasting and undercoating has revealed the wonderful design and detail in the fruiting swag and the patera. The glazing bars were separately hinged and secured to the reverse of the door with wing-nuts in order to ease the cleaning of the glass.
