Léon Danchin was a French artist specializing in drawings and paintings of sporting dogs. He was born in Lille, France and studied sculpture at the École des Beaux Art in Paris before being accepted by the Salon des Artists at the young age of 16. Danchin began working in watercolor and printmaking, producing around 100 engravings and lithographs over the course of his life, dying in1938, in Bergues, France.
