Hand-painted Furosaki-byobu screen of Butterflies, by Reiki Yamaguchi

Coloured inks on gold ground.


Furosaki-byobu, is a two fold screen, made for use in the Tea Ceremony to mark the temae space. Yamaguchi Reiki was a Japanese artist who was born in Kyoto Pref. in 1894. His real name was Matsunosuke .
