An early nineteenth century framed charcoal life-study of a kneeling male figure.
A muscular figure is shown full length and semi-seated in the Epitrapezios pose recalling the Seated Herakles of Lysippus, mentioned by the Roman poets Martial and Statius, a copy of which is held in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
