estate-made: the cast-iron recumbent lion after Sir Edwin Landseer (Trafalgar Square), on a worn ebonised mahogany base with brass handle and stem,

the lion is marked for a registration date of 1872; the combination of materials suggests that the door porter is a well executed estate adaptation c.1880-1910. The lion has been re-secured to the original base,
