    with deep-buttoned back and scrolled arm rests with acanthus supports, the turned, tapered and fluted front legs with gadrooned and ring-turned embellishment, all traditionally upholstered in the finest red goatskin and finished with brass tacks.

It was the brainchild of its editor Stratis Eleftheriades, a Greek National who moved to Paris in the early thirties to take part in the growing Modernist movement, writing under the name of Teriade.
