Large cast iron fireback,
commemorating the victory of the English over the Spanish Armada,
the fireback is made of four sections, three rectangular surmounted by a decorative arch section. The central panel has a anchor with coiled rope between two fleurs de lys above a pair of Tudor roses, this is flanked by vertical stems of grapes surmounted by a semi-circular arch decorating with the date 1588 and initials ‘IFC’. Late nineteenth century / early twentieth century.
