Impressive early nineteenth century Italian Statuary marble fireplace,
likely produced for retail in England,
the rectangular shelf with finely carved stiff-leaf and beaded under-mould, the frieze carved in relief showing musical putti cavorting in the clouds with representations of Helios and Zephyrus to either side, all raised on striking tapered female caryatid terms, with pilasters behind.
Opening width 119.5 cm x 108.5 cm high, outside measurement of the rear pilasters 150cm (width).
