This medieval fire surround, or doorcase, is known to have stood at Shoppenhanger Manor near Maidenhead. The house was entirely rebuilt on at least one occasion and for a period was embellished by an Edwardian collector keen on Architectural Salvage. It was demolished after a fire in the late 20th Century.
