Tent and bag chandeliers usually comprise chains of drops. This example - possibly Italian - is constructed using a wirework body; it holds its own shape and is therefore rather more robust, lighter and easier to handle and clean. Access to the interior for changing bulbs etc. is easy and enabled by unscrewing the securing pins around the circlet and removing the "bowl".
