Nine stamped ‘J.STOREY’ (sometimes stamped I.S.), c.1710-1730, one ‘JOSEPH SPACKMAN’, second half eighteenth century.
The single reeded rim is typical of English sadware from the early eighteenth century (1700-1730).

English Oak parquet panels removed from Englemere, the Berkshire seat of the British national war hero Lord Roberts of Kandahar. The panels are constructed in English Oak and were in the ballroom of the country house. As a reclaimed timber they require careful handling and laying by an experienced joiner or floor fitter. The Oak is quarter sawn across the grain with attractive medullary rays on the face of the wood. Mellow golden in appearance with a pleasing geometric pattern.£266 + VAT per sq m -

The Brilliant Sign Co were the foremost suppliers of shop signboards from their inception in 1888 through their innovative use of V-sectioned copper lettering, as used in this run supplied to the firm ‘G.T Morgan’. This development superceded the incised wooden letter and meant that a less skilled labour force could complete the work in less time.
