Del-Boy comes to LASSCO
To any Architectural Salvage Dealer, “Del-Boy” from Only Fools & Horses is, of course, regarded as a Patron Saint and a Hero. So to have had a visit from Sir David Jason together with Jay Blades of Repair Shop fame for a photo-shoot to promote their upcoming new BBC series was both a pleasure and an honour!
The resultant article is the Cover Story in today’s Daily Telegraph Magazine (Saturday 13th January 2024).
It was a cold day so interviews were conducted in front of the office fire and Dan Burn-Forti clearly had a lot of fun when it came to the photo shoot.
We love the shot of Sir David ruefully eye-ing the chandelier! In the course of our work, when it comes to the hanging and moving of chandeliers on a day to day basis, “The One with the Chandelier” is always referenced (“One more turn Del!”, “Brace Yourself Rodney, Brace yourself….”). It is remembered on every occasion. And on the front cover – the inclusion of the broom – it’s subtle but – could that be “Trigger’s Broom”?!
Sir David, his wife Gill, and Jay (Jay, a returning customer) were as charming as you would expect and so were the team that came to interview and photograph them. Their new series “David & Jay’s Touring Toolshed” starts on 22nd January 2024 at 6.30pm on BBC2.
