Jenny Brewer investigates industrial style interiors in this month’s idfx magazine. We’re delighted that she has picked out our “Hi-Voltage Insulator Bar Stools” as an illustration of the way industrial forms and salvage are being used in interior design.
A small correction: We didn’t buy the St. John’s Wood substation! We did salvage a huge quantity of ceramic insulators before it was demolished though. These finned sculptural ceramic monsters are there to prevent up to 40,000Volts earthing out. The fins keep the insulator cool and ensure that any condensation drips off before it can conduct.
