Antique Door Furniture Sets
The old antiques dealer’s mantra is ‘Never Break Up A Set’.
When dealing with very well made antique door furniture we are simply stewards. Consideration must be made for future owners. Perhaps you only have three doors to adorn in your home, the next keeper could have more. For the sentimentalists amongst us, there is also nothing sadder than the thought of breaking up a fine antique set that has been united for a hundred years or more.
Hardware, although small in size, is one of the finishing details that completes a home. It is by no means essential for handles to match throughout the house, but doing so implies a considered approach, intentional choice and a restrained interior overall.
