The plaque is incised to the lower edge with the legend: “AMEN DICO VOBIS QUIA UNUS VESTRUM ME TRADITURUS EST” (“Truly I say to you that one of you will betray me” Matt 21: 26). It was reproduced by Coalbrookdale in Shropshire from about 1840 until 1900. An example of it can be found at the Coalbrookdale Museum.
