Joseph Smith 1805-44 was an American writer, religious leader and visionary who founded Mormonism – the Church of Latter Day Saints.
The Sculptor:
Lucius Gahagan 1773-1855 was brother to the better known sculptor Sebastien Gahagan. London based they both may have studied under Nollekens.
