The incised inscription for “F. Want & Sons” is unexplained. It is likely that the posts and chains ran along a frontage with this series of posts marking the Want premises boundary. The stone block plinths are of differing heights which can be compensated for on installation. A spare post, not mounted on stone, is included in the seven. Four posts have chain connection hasps at 90degree setting, the rest are in line. One corner post lacks its ball finial.
