probably from a railway or industrial context,
each triangular bracket pierced with foliate scrollwork,

These are intended to support a flat soffit or projecting balcony or console – they appear to have been used as a veranda. Theywill need sturdy anchoring points for the cantilever. They could potentially be inverted to provide a flat top-surface in a console format.
