A French plaster panel,
in the Rococo taste,19th Century, by Samuel Lucchesi of Paris,
cast in relief, the central cartouche framed with rocaille ornament and depicting hunting dogs descending on their downed quarry within a wooded landscape,
The panel, stamped in two places with an oval mark reading: "Samuel Lucchesi, mouleur editeur, Paris, 9 rue de la Roquette,". It would have formed a focal panel within an architectural scheme ornamenting an opulent Parisian interior. A second similar panel has survived with the pictured example but is in poor condition - please enquire.
