the rectangular panel with a run of circlets to its margins around a field of geometric foliate scrolls centred with opposed displaying phoenix

History

This panel, by repute, was salvaged from a war-ravaged house in Rhiems, France. It does bear losses to the scrolls that do appear unusual insofar as they are not at vulnerable points: possibly then damage from bullets or scrapnel. Later powder-coat painted.
