Brunswick House is looking forward to welcoming its new neighbours!
L&R (London & Regional Properties) bought Vauxhall Cross in May 2005. This neglected and derelict 0.95 acre development site is located immediately adjacent to one of London’s largest public transport interchanges.
Being close to Vauxhall Bridge and the River Thames, Vauxhall Cross acts as one of the key strategic gateways to Central London. The GLA London Plan identifies this part of Vauxhall as a defined Opportunities Area and as an established cluster of tall buildings that is a suitable location for further high density development.
L&R has taken this context as the starting point to devise an ambitious mixed-use, high density scheme that makes a significant contribution to the ongoing area-wide regeneration of Vauxhall. L&R has made a significant effort to consult local residents, businesses, politicians and interest groups from the outset.
Over a six month period, L&R has met with a large number of people to explore how Vauxhall Cross could best be developed to maximise its regenerative benefits. These meetings have been invaluable in helping L&R to shape the emerging proposals for Vauxhall Cross and inform a package of local benefits that is both required and generally welcomed.
L&R's objective is to deliver a development of the highest quality, which combines elegant architecture with leading edge environmental credentials. A range of different land uses and activities is proposed to make Vauxhall Cross a vibrant and sought after destination, with improved linkages for pedestrians and cyclists.
