Elm number nine 2019
This drawing is one of a series of drawings that represented each of trees of ‘Nine Elms’ in Vauxhall, created to celebrate the planting of two new elms in 2018.

The project is a collaboration between the artist and Jony Easterby, who has subsequently digitally animated them to explore their growth patterns condensing their 30-year growth and form into a one-minute video sequence. These were being projected at nine sites throughout Nine Elms in December 2019.
Pipa Taylor (b.1970) is an artist based in the hills of mid Wales who has been working with trees and wood in many forms for the past twenty-five years. Her work has been exhibited to acclaim both in the UK and internationally.
A lifelong love and association with trees and landscape have led the artist to nurture a practice which both involves the cultivation of habitats for biodiversity alongside the creation of arts works which celebrate creative responses to the natural world and the human impact within the Anthroposcene.
