early Victorian,
with a wrythen stem above a torus moulded collar, octagonal lower section and foliate mouldings,

This lamp post was one of a series stock-piled in a wood in Hampshire. Its short stature and circular flange base-plate indicate that it was originally installed on a parapet for a bridge, terrace or similar. As such, it lends itself well for a garden complex (street lamp posts are often too high).
