This pot was sourced in Morocco; similar pots can originate from anywhere in the Mediterranean region – although old ones like these are becoming hard to find. They’ve been made in this way for at least three millennia. They are often kept in cool cellars and are sealed for long-term and seasonal storage of all manner of produce: grain, olive oil, figs etc. They make wonderful garden ornaments – whilst we can’t guarantee them against frost we know them to be very hardy.
