A late 18th century neo-classcial chimneypiece

Probably of Irish origin

the moulded shelf above the frieze is centered by an oval medallion carved with three winged putti playing musical instruments. This is flanked by panels of swags of flowers held by ribbons.  The aperature is surrounded by rich sienna panels and the whole is raised on squared blocks,
