A beautifully executed stained and painted glass window

C.1860 from All Saints Church, Finchley Rd., demolished in the 1970s

The window depicts Mary Magdalene (Mary of Magdala) at the tomb of Jesus.  The whole is surmounted by a rich yellow sunrise, with deep purple mountains leading to buildings and fields, well painted foliage and flowers, the right hand side is dominated by the rocky form of the tomb, leading us to the figure of Mary of Magdala, dressed in white and red robes carrying a blue urn, further grasses and flowers at ther feet and to the bottom left of a crouching angel with a manuscript.
