This is a replica piece. This campana urn, although different in form to Hope’s copy of a Greek vase of white marble in the museum at Pontici” does utilise the same “group of Apollo Cithardaedus and Genius, borrowed from a bas relief in the British Museum”. See “Thomas Hope – Regency Furniture and interior Decoration”. Dover, New York 1971, p86.
